Books in My Wishlist…

My wishlist is growing day by day. There are books that have been in it since last year & there are others that have found a place in it just the last month.

The reason that I haven’t purchased these till now is that I haven’t felt the dire need to purchase them yet. Budget is another factor that plays a prominent role. And when I do have some extra money, there’s always some other book or something else in my cart. Another problem is that I don’t know which one I need to purchase first.

Here are the titles that I have in my Wishlist:

1. The High Priestess never marries: Stories of Love and Consequence

This book is a collection of short stories featuring women as protagonists. The cover of the book is what I simply adore. It has been in my wishlist for about 6 months. I have read great reviews of this anthology.

2. The Great Derangement

It was recommended by one of my professors. And I personally feel that it’s a must read. It’s about the recent climate changes & our failure to deal with it. I feel one should read atleast 1 Non-Fiction after reading about 5 books. Though there are a number of genres in fiction itself, but Non-fiction is something that refreshns me.

3. Ms Draupadi Kuru: After the Pandavas

Ahhh!! The first one to get into my wishlist. It is a hilarious read about Draupadi & several other female characters from Mahabharata returning to modern day Delhi. I’m literally in love with the concept. I wonder why I haven’t got my hands on it yet.

4. Judas

This is the first book that I have put in my wishlist after reading a review. I read the review and I fell for it. The title itself seemed quite intriguing to me. Here’s what Book description on Amazon reads, “Set in the still-divided Jerusalem of 1959–60, Judas is an exquisite love story and coming-of-age tale and a radical rethinking of the concept of treason.

5. Possession

Most people say that we should not judge a book from its cover. But I can’t help from falling for books from the cover itself. This is the case here. I don’t know what it is about. But I’ll have it someday.

6. Mohanaswamy

Mohanaswamy is a book on the theme of Homosexuality. I wanted to read some book on homosexuality since long. I feel this is the best because it is based in India.

7. Scattered Souls

The issue of Jammu & Kashmir has always fascinated me. Scattered Souls is a collection of stories of people where fear has entered not only their lives but into their souls.

8. Burial Rites

Burial Rites is the most recent addition to my wishlist. It’s again the one in which cover prompted me to add it into my Wishlist.

Have you read any of these? Are you planning to buy some book from this list? Do share your thoughts. Thanks.
