Last Month, I made my first Bookish Haul. It was the first one after launching this blog. I purchased these books during a Festive Sale on Bookchor. I got these 5 books for INR 310. There’s one hardback and 4 paperbacks.

4. The Skinning Tree

He lives in a family where the anglicised sophistication of bridge and dinner parties co-exist with Indian values and nationalism …. when the Japanese advance on India during World War II, Sabby finds himself being sent to a boarding school in northern India.
In a regime of rules and punishments, the schoolboys are beaten and brutalized by the teachers, they are transformed into mirrors of their abusers. From the mindless killing of birds and animals, the bodies of their skinned trophies are thrown on to a cactus known as the Skinning Tree …. Conspiratorial whisperings and talk of killing and revenge spiral into a tragedy engulfing Sabby.

Also discussed are topics such as punctuation, grammar, spelling and the alphabet, which help strengthen the language and vocabulary of the reader. The writer takes you on an entertaining and educational journey of the English language by making use of riddles, cartoons and a special code to solve along the way.

It was a long time back..I read it when I was in school..but I remember I did enjoy reading it a lot..that suspense, the thriller and those peculiar yet scary assassinations..damn, I think I’ll re-read it anytime these days.. 🙂

Ok, jokes apart, bro, I just read the harry potter few months back so there’s nothing to worry if you are late. What’s more important is that you finally got your hands over this book!! Just LIVE this book!! It’s super amazing!

Studying Literature as a subject gives you amazing feeling. When you read some book, you’ve a different perspective than others.
However, I don’t like the history portion. 😩
